The School Based Services programs are designed to create safe, trauma-informed learning environments which set the necessary stage for students to benefit from academic instruction. These services include, but are not limited to, intensive public-private school programs designed to reduce the number of out-of-district placements; behavioral management services in alternative schools or classrooms; assisting with culture change in turnaround schools and/or case management and therapy services in alternative programs.
The implementation of SBS services has an immediate impact on the reduction of disruptive behavior; reinforces civility and begins to create safety and positive learning environments.
SBS staff are highly trained in de-escalation, civility and trauma, in order to create and maintain positive school cultures. Principles of research-based behavioral, social skills, social-emotional, learning theory and anti-bullying programs are infused into our training models and we can easily create collaborative programs to enhance any system a district may have in place.
SBS believes that students should remain in school and in their classroom so they may be exposed to academic instruction as much as possible. SBS uses a continuum of interventions for all other behaviors, in order to maintain or return students to their classrooms as soon as possible and ready to learn.
SBS staff include Administrators, Licensed Clinicians, Case Managers and Behavioral Interventionists and can draw on any additional areas of expertise as needed.
